Stretch into Eco-Friendly Leggings with Yoga Democracy

We all know yoga leggings are pretty versatile, whether we’re lounging around the house or lunging down into a yoga pose on the mat. Yoga Democracy switches up the game with their eco-friendly leggings, made in the USA.

I love incorporating yoga stretches into any workout as a standalone, or at the end of a workout as it really helps with my scoliosis. I’m always looking for fun legging designs that are both comfortable and stylish to get me out of bed in the morning and in the gym!

Big brands charge an arm and a legging.

We all know Victoria’s Secret and Lululemon leggings look great, but cost a TON of money unless they’re on sale.

I’ll admit, I was a little surprised with Yoga Democracy’s own high price tag, but hear me out. Many leggings, and clothes in general, are produced in countries where working conditions aren’t great and products are sold for cheap to big, wholesale companies.

 

 

Yoga Democracy produces all products in-house in Arizona, and works directly with customers – not wholesale companies – to ensure customers are happy with the product. When customers aren’t satisfied with a design or a product, Yoga Democracy listens.

All sewing and water-free color dyeing takes place in-house. They offer products from yoga leggings to tops, mats, swimwear, and more. Yoga Democracy donates 1% of each purchase to an environmental fund as a member of 1% For The Planet, which makes both our clothes and our purchases intentional!

 

 

What are the leggings like?

FEEL:

The Yoga Democracy leggings are INCREDIBLY soft. They’re easy to slide on, working great in the gym and around the house. I especially like wearing these leggings for leg days and yoga. They’re really stretchy, so I can easily move around during my workout.

 

 

 

SIZE:

The legging size was a little tough. I followed Yoga Democracy’s sizing chart, but I measured a little off. My leggings were too small the first time around, so I exchanged my pair for a size up! I’ll explain the return / exchange process later on in the post.

I recommend measuring your waist to use their sizing guide and get the pair that fits best for you.

 

 

LOOK:

The leggings are thin and 100% opaque, so we don’t have to worry about seeing through the fabric. This was a major plus in my book.

I’ve practiced my gym motions in dressing room mirrors to decide whether or not to buy a pair of pants in the past. I need my squats and deadlifts to be as distraction-free as possible!

Yoga Democracy offers a TON of fun, crazy, colorful designs. There are so many different options to choose from, I think there’s a design for everyone.

PERFORMANCE:

I tried out the leggings in 4 different gym sessions: leg day, chest / triceps / shoulder day, back / biceps day, and yoga day!

I don’t move a whole lot in the pants during my upper body workouts, other than walking around the gym. The leggings are great for any workout, but I especially recommend these for leg day and yoga.

 

 

OTHER INFO:

Packaged in a recycled bag, we can easily return or exchange products by filling out an online form. I had to exchange my own leggings because they were too small the first time around, so I recommend going a size up! I purchased the Zen Water Garden Yoga Crops. The online store offers plenty of great designs to choose from.

Return & Exchange Experience

My leggings were just a tad bit too snug, so I exchanged them!

The exchange process was painless. I visited the Yoga Democracy website, filled out a form, submitted my request, and they provided me with a prepaid label to ship the leggings back in the same bag. #ReduceReuseRecycle.

Once Yoga Democracy received the leggings with the tags still on, they sent me an e-gift card for the amount paid, minus the shipping from the original order.

 

 

I was a little worried about the shipping – I really don’t like paying for shipping because I feel like it’s always a waste of money! BUT, I placed my new order early one morning, picked out the same pair one size up, applied the gift card, and it said the gift card covered the order!

Exchange shipping is free, and my new order shipped the very same day I ordered it. I assume this is because I ordered it early in the morning. Thankfully, I received the new pair of leggings just 2 days later. Woo!
